Purpose

To direct and facilitate the services provided by Christar in Canada relating to those who seek to and those who serve among the least-reached through Christar-related ministries.

Objectives / Outcomes

Because of the work of the Director of Personnel

  1. There will be men and women who are mobilized, assessed, trained, and well-cared for, who
  2. Love God more than themselves, their work, and family (Luke 14:26);
  3. Love others as much as themselves (Matt 22:39);
  4. Use their God-given gifts, talents, and skills for making disciples of Christ and establishing churches among the least-reached.

Ministry Specific Responsibilities

  1. Direct and coordinate activities of the Personnel Division to recruit, train, and care for short, mid, and long-term workers.
  2. Analyze operations to evaluate the performance of the division staff in meeting organizational objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
  3. Prepare budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs.
  4. Developing and building the team by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  5. Communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to provide information, resolve conflict, and encourage effective and efficient outcomes.

  • Passion for God and His glory!
  • Has lived and ministered overseas.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others toward the agreed-upon objectives
  • Administrative ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Pastoral skills which are needed for edifying, encouraging, and supporting others.
  • Strong understanding of assessment tools (GripBirkman;16-PF; MBTI; FIRO-B, etc.) and how they are relevant to ministry opportunities and responsibilities.
  • Good verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Able to skillfully administrate the complexities of a very diverse division of the Mobilization Center ministry.
  • Knows Christar DNA, places, opportunities.
  • Can navigate O365 and documents and opportunities therein.

Working Relationships

  • Collaborates with Divisional/Departmental co-workers.
  • Collaborates with Field Personnel (CPD, Affinity, Focus…)
  • Oversees Member Care Director
  • Oversees Finance in regard to missionary support/outgoing
